City & Guilds Level 3 Anatomy and Physiology and Swedish Massage
Massage is a universal instinct. From the earliest times, we have known that it helps to rub a sore limb and that to touch is beneficial. Although massage techniques are based on a mixture of many traditions and techniques, the starting point is to understand the workings of the human body, the mechanics of posture and muscle tone which will enable you to create a treatment which will specifically benefit your client.
This course has been designed for anyone wishing to begin his or her career as a massage or body holistic therapist. You will learn how to conduct body analysis; prepare the working environment; carry out treatments to cover relaxation; aid weight-loss; stimulation and lymphatic drainage.
You will study the history of massage, learn about health and safety legislation, anatomy and physiology of the body, and all related organs.
Throughout the course you will receive and give massage to a variety of body types to increase your expertise.
