The scheme is administrated by CAPITA plc, an independent Assessment and Payment Body (APB). The college is responsible for monitoring attendance and authorising payment.
Payments depend on full attendance plus satisfactory behaviour and academic progress.
For additional advice and information you can call the Education Maintenance Allowance helpline (freephone) 0808 101 6219.

Phoenix Student Treatment Studio
The Phoenix student treatment room is available for all learners to use; it can be booked for a two-hour session or a full day at no extra charge. The clients are booked through the salon reception. The learners are encouraged to telephone the client to confirm their appointment, which enhances communication skills. The clients are charged a reasonable fee to enable learners to become comfortable when dealing with cash, cheque and credit card payments. Products sold during the treatments gain the learners a discount on future products they may purchase for themselves, rewarding the retailing process.
Phoenix First Steps Studio
Once the learners have completed their training, the First Steps Studio is available for them to progress to the next level. Junior therapists commit to a session, day evening or weekend per week for approximately three months. The junior therapists take a commission of the takings and are responsible for building a client base which is available to them to target as future clients once they leave and participate in promotional activities gaining vital commercial and marketing skills.
Other Facilities
There is a study room, which the learners can access outside their training. A library of textbooks, journals, DVDs and CD-ROMs are available for the students to use. A tutor is often on hand for one-to-one support.
Phoenix Holistic, Beauty & Nail Training School often arranges teams of therapists to attend ladies’ evenings and exhibitions which provide valuable experience and networking opportunities with other therapists within the industry. The company strives to develop and support the team of educators as well as the learners.
The School participates in work experience with local schools, allowing young people to sample the learning process and treatments to help them to make the right choice of career.
There are many differences between Phoenix School and their competitors – flexible learning programmes, specialist educators and realistic training programmes are a few.
